Chat with PDF documents
Turn product manuals, brochures and reference documents into answers visitors can ask for in plain language.
Method: File upload. A PDF upload is a snapshot. Replace the source when the manual changes, and verify any answer that depends on a complex table.
Add PDF documents to Chatbit
Choose a PDF with selectable text. Upload it in your chatbot's data sources and review the extracted content before testing. For a scanned document, extract the text with an OCR tool first and check the result.
Open your chatbot's data sources to add the prepared content. Follow the source setup guide if this is your first bot.
Prepare useful source material
Give each document a clear title and remove old editions. If a diagram explains an important detail, write that explanation in text so it can become part of the source.
Try these questions
What is included in the standard package? Which steps should I follow before using the product?
Compare each answer with the original content. Ask a follow-up, and try one question the source does not cover to check that the bot avoids guessing.
Keep the content current
When the original changes, update or replace the corresponding Chatbit source and test the affected answers again. Remove superseded copies so the bot is not working from conflicting versions.
Put the answers on your website
Once the answers are ready, adjust your welcome message and suggested questions. Find your website installation guide to publish the bot, or improve its responses before sharing.
Frequently asked questions
Can I combine this with other sources?
Yes. Add relevant website pages, files, text and Q&A to the same chatbot. Keep their facts consistent and check your plan's source limits.
Should I import everything at once?
Start with a small set that answers your most common questions. Check the extracted text and answers, then add more material where it fills a real gap.
